This week has been focused on the homeless of Austin. A study (costing almost 50K) revealed nothing new - homelessness is due to drug/alcohol abuse, mental problems and so forth. The city has backed down from stronger laws regarding panhandling because of pressure from advocates. Progressive citizens want street corners cleared of ragged beggars - who even in my experience - don’t want food - don’t want a job but money (a handout)...  Read More »
