Window Media publications – the same company that shut down gay magazine Genre – has closed two more publications and will close the doors on its remaining GLBT properties.
As of Monday, Atlanta’s Southern Voice newspaper and David magazine were shuttered.
On the chopping block are The Washington Blade (which recently celebrated 40 years of business), The South Florida Blade, Houston Voice and 411 Magazine. [SOURCE: q-notes.com]
Openly Gay Mayoral Candidate Target for Houston Conservatives
Annise Parker is in a mayoral runoff in Houston and if a group of conservative ministers have their way, she’ll lose because of her lesbian lifestyle.
“National gay and lesbian activists [are] promoting an agenda which we believe to be contrary to the concerns of the community and destructive to the family,” says the executive director of the conservative group Houston Area Pastor Council.
