The late Bea Arthur (the silver-tongued Golden Girl) left $300,000 in her will to the Ali Fornay Center, a New York organization that aids homeless gay youth. According to vincentlambert.com, the money will help furnish a home for 12 young people.

How much trouble can a gay couple and a bunch of Bic lighters find at a Wal-Mart? If you’re in Niles, Michigan then plenty!

A gay couple, and their children, have been banned for life from all Wal-Mart stores. The hoopla started when Joe Paolucci, Thomas Hitchcock and their 11-year-old twin boys used a self-check out aisle. They were then detained when security believed the couple did not pay for the lighters.

MyFOXaustin.com reports Paolucci and Hitchcock were asked to enter a detention room to which they declined and asked for police. When police arrived the tables were turned on them as they found themselves arrested and placed in separate squad cars.

After reviewing store surveillance tapes, police let Paolucci and Hitchcock go but not before a store rep banned them for life – the reason? Being “uncooperative” and trespassing.

To add insult to injury, Paolucci and Hitchcock received a bill from Wal-Mart for 10 times the original amount of the lighters.

If you’re saying they should sue – well, Paolucci and Hitchcock already thought of that but their lawyers advised them to drop the idea since Wal-Mart plays “hardball” and the incident could end up costing them millions in legal fees.

And just to set the record str8, we’re not calling Paolucci and Hitchcock the boneheads here. ;)
