Kudos to Austin gay man Philip Knisely for donating his kidney to a co-worker despite the CDC’s policy that bans gay men and women from giving blood, tissue or organs.

According to KXAN.com, there is an exception to the rule which allowed Knisely to give his kidney to Jose Luis Vara, Jr. (if the person knows the donor is gay and still approves the gift then the transplant can proceed) Kudos also to Vara, Jr. for not caring about the sexual orientation of his organs.
