Austin Events Mark 20th Year for World AIDS Day
Monday, December 1, sets a 20 year milestone for World AIDS Day. The event is a day set aside for the world to come together to bring attention to the ongoing global AIDS epidemic. While progress has been made in both treatment and survival rates, the rate of infections, including Central Texas numbers, continue to rise. Dell Issues Prop 8 Statement

Boycott of MILK movie screenings at Austin’s Cinemark Theaters
An organization calling itself “No MILK for Cinemark Theaters!” has called a boycott against all screenings of the biopic MILK in Cinemark Theaters throughout the country. MILK is the biographical film of Harvey Milk, an openly gay politician who was assassinated. Transgender Vigil Thursday Night in Austin
On Thursday, November 20th at 6:30 PM the transgender community of Central Texas and its allies will gather for a vigil at the Austin City Hall Plaza (301 W. 2nd Street) to honor those killed because they didn’t conform to traditional gender norms. The event is part of the internationally coordinated 10th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance to be held in more than 90 cities worldwide. (dmwmedia.com) Internet dating site eHarmony.com said on Wednesday that it has settled a discrimination lawsuit in New Jersey, and will begin accepting personal ads from gays and lesbians for the first time.
